Super excited for tonight’s celebration of our Sixth Annual Porcupine Day! I posted this on Facebook on the actual “official” day on 2/3:
Happy “official” Porcupine Day! While our celebration party is Saturday evening, today, six years ago, we Triggered the Move and called thousands of libertarians home to the Free State. (And “triggered” the enemies of liberty in NH. lol) Getting 20K signers was the culmination of a ton of work by a bunch of incredible people, all of whom should be proud of their efforts! On a personal note, it is hard for me to watch the press conference video because I can see how unwell and out-of-balance I was. Suffice to say, herding libertarian cats is a special skill, and I wasn’t fully equipped back then to deal with all the stresses, which meant I developed a pretty nifty drinking problem. But, I knew something was wrong, and I set out to change. And I did. So Porcupine Day is bittersweet for me. An end, a start, and a continued lifelong journey where only I, first, am captain, for me, but I am truly grateful for all who sail beside me! Cheers!
Here’s last year’s post…

What Is the “Social Contract”? How About Not Tolerating Open Drug Use?!? (ManchTalk 02/01/22)
We cover a lot of ground this week, including Manchester Democrat Nicole Klein-Knight’s removal from committees for use of the N-word, a bill that would remove parental consent requirements for vaccines for 16 y/os, the problem with being overly tolerant to bad public behavior, and more!
Idk, but could YOU spend 25 years pretending to be something you are not, like this government agent who was paid by you to “pretend” to be a racist KKK member, and more? The worst part about government for me is they do terrible things IN THE NOW (say, waterboarding) claiming to prevent worse things from happening in the future, BUT…
Much like the claims about your C19 symptoms being “milder” if you’re vaxxed, no one REALLY knows if that’s true, AND, if we were to freeze the timeline in the NOW, that state agent “pretending” to be the KKK or torturing someone, IS OBJECTIVELY THE BAD GUY.
But you know, keep believing the people who are doing bad things in the now while they tell you about other people who might do worse things in the future… bc, yeah, THAT’S SANE. /s
Our individual Right of Conscience is enshrined in Article 4 of the NH Constitution, stating: [Rights of Conscience Unalienable.] Among the natural rights, some are, in their very nature unalienable, because no equivalent can be given or received for them. Of this kind are the Rights of Conscience.
“Unalienable” = NO ONE can take it away.
So this bill, HB1210 is a no brainer! Free people can decide what to do with their own bodies… it’s called “self-ownership.” If you disagree, let me ask you this… how much of me do you think the government owns?
According to the bill’s sponsor, Timothy Lang, the bill does take into account private business owners needs by including a “reasonable accommodation” clause. If the employee and employer cannot come to some arrangement, you can get fired.
This memory is 9 years old. To my old self: You were wrong!
Living alcohol-free is the best decision I’ve ever made (and I’ve made some GREAT ones over the years, incl. moving to NH as part of the FSP).
Removing the daily voluntary ingestion of a neurotoxin, improved my life in the following ways:
1. Easier to make good choices & routinely stick to them.
2. Sleep! Your brain needs to detox at night, so getting good, deep sleep is vital to optimal brain function/mood and lifestyle balance.
3. Better, less drama-filled relationships, and the ability to clearly see who enhances your life and how, and then nurturing that.
If YOU’RE interested in quitting alcohol, feel free to reach out or drop a comment below. I’m working on a book about this topic, and want to understand what you want to know!
So… THIS happened! Meet Obi, the latest addition to Castle Quill! Louis and I are deeply grateful to Donna BuMps Priolo for choosing us as Obi’s forever home. We promise to take insanely good care of her!
Ms. Nellie is 15 now, and she’s still doing her best but she is in her sunset phase. She’s hoarse this morning from all yesterday’s antics, and is still curled in a “doggie donut,” fast asleep, right now.
The Universe moves in mysterious ways, but just like Nellie came into our lives at the right time through a close friend (I’d just lost my pregnancy during my 2nd trimester), I believe Obi is here to make the transition with Nellie less painful when the times comes.
But ENOUGH depro-shit! Look! PUPPY!!!
PS: The photo is LITERALLY the only one I’ve managed to get that’s SORTA in focus so far. Prepare for cuteness overload!
